Stay a night or two in one of the most luxurious camps, located amidst the giant dunes of the Sahara. Run by a local Amazigh man and a wonderful team, the Erg Chigaga camp offers the best we can provide to our guests. On your arrival, one of your Berber guides will escort you to your private tent. The luxurious tents are hand-made in traditional style, and feature Berber carpets, king-sized beds, and luxurious blankets. Each tent includes a toilet. sink, and bucket shower, a seating area, and a heater to offset the chill of the desert night. All meals, water, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages are available at no extra charge.
Erg Chigaga's dunes rise up to 300 meters high. Climb a nearby dune to experience a magnificent sunset. You’ll enjoy a delicious dinner followed by a performance by local musicians. That night you’ll experience the beauty of the desert night and, on clear nights, more stars than you have ever seen. In the morning, wake up early to experience a stunning Sahara Desert sunrise. As you climb the dunes, you’ll see the tracks of animals that roamed the dunes in the cool and quiet of the night, as well as birds looking for food before the day gets hot. After a large, fresh breakfast you’ll have several options, including a morning camel ride, hiking through the desert, a visit to a nomadic Amatzigh encampment, and relaxing in a hammock.
A sea of soft, warm, and undulating apricot sand greets you at Merzoga Camp in Erg Chebbi. The awe-inspiring dunes of Erg Chebbi rise to 150 meters from the surrounding area and altogether span an area of approximately 28 kilometers from north to south and 5–7 kilometers from east to west. The sea of dunes is best experienced on the back of a camel. Your ride awaits!
The rustic Berber camp is located at the core of the remote dunes of the Erg Chigaga, the largest of the dune seas of Morocco. The camp has six large comfortable tents with king-sized beds, and separate toilets and showers. It features a square space for a campfire and drumming by local musicians after you have had your delicious dinner. The package includes all meals.
