This tour is perfectly made for time-limited travelers. It includes one night in the Sahara and beautiful drives through unforgettable scenery.

Day 1 – Marrakesh – Taznakht – Erg Chigaga

Your driver will pick you up from the airport or your riad. He will guide you across the  highest pass in the Atlas Mountains, at an altitude of 2260 meters, to Taznakht where we can stop at a carpet cooperative to see traditional Berber carpets (about 4 hours).  Next, we’ll drive to Foum Zguid (1.5 hours), where we leave the road to travel by 4x4 across the Sahara to the Erg Chigaga camp. We’ll cross the Regs (flat earthy land), the Hamada (rocky space), and the Ouads (dried rivers that flood only when it’s very rainy) and a vast  salty dry lakebed, Iriqui (once part of the Paris - Dakar Rally route and a home for many birds). The total distance is approximately 150 km.

Day 2 – Erg Chigaga – M’Hamid - Aït Benhaddou - Marrakesh

After breakfast you’ll have a 2-hour off-road drive to M’Hamid, a small outpost village where you rejoin the paved road. On the way back to Marrakesh you will have the chance to experience the beautiful scenery of the Draa valley, which is watered by the longest river in Morocco. Lunch will be somewhere on the way at your request. You will visit the  Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, a spectacular UNESCO World Heritage site that is featured in many movies, then continue along the winding road through the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakesh.
