About Your Guide

Ali is an Amazigh, or Berber, whose family were nomads, herding sheep and goats in the Sahara Desert, for generations. When the changing climate dried up many of the water sources in the desert, making a nomadic life too difficult and dangerous, Ali's family moved to a small village in southern Morocco, where he was able to attend school. Now, he lives in Marrakesh with his wife. Ali is fluent in Arabic, Amazigh,  English, and French.

Ali's many years in the desert have given him the skills and experience to navigate off-road through rough and trackless terrain in his 4x4 as he guides his guests through the Sahara to camps where they can experience the wonders of the desert. He has guided guests through all of Morocco for many years and can introduce you to the culture, architecture and natural wonders of the country in detail that many tour operators often miss.
